Castlecary History
The small village of Castlecary, sits just off the A80 with the hotel being the only hotel/public house/restaurant in the village, therefore also being the 'Local'.
Strategically situated in the heart of Central Scotland, and very near Scotland’s main motorway network, M8/M9/M73/M74 we are easily accessible by all means of transport.
All the major towns and cities of Central Scotland, as well as some of the countries most beautiful scenery, and tourist attractions are within easy reach of us providing an ideal base for leisure or business travel.
Attractions such as the outstanding Falkirk Wheel, Stirling Castle and the Forth and Clyde Canal are only a short distance away. We are also only 250yards from the Antonine Wall, which has just been awarded World Heritage Status, Scotland's fifth heritage site. We understand that this site was once one of nineteen forts along the length of the wall, however there is little to see now. We hope that in being granted this status, there will be some upgrading to this part of the site and easier access for visitors. However, it is still worth visiting, with a little imagination!
 Falkirk Wheel
The original hotel itself is over 140 years old and was formally an old Coaching Inn. As a 3-Star Hotel, emphasis is on comfortable and extensive accommodation, excellent home-cooked food, and friendly service.
Accommodation is available either in Cottage style buildings surrounding the hotel grounds or in the Main Building, where our Executive rooms are located. Together with the informality of being a family run business, under the same family ownership for over 35 years, we like to ensure that all our guests are looked after.
